Barefoot scientists engaging the next generation of researchers through kids TV
Barefoot scientists Mitchell Call and Damien Maher have just completed a day in the field with a camera crew from network 10’s “Scope”, a children’s science television show.
The scientists spent the day in the mangroves of Moreton Bay, describing some of the techniques the barefoot team uses, and discussing some of the recent findings from the teams mangrove research. Scope is a collaboration between CSIRO and network 10 and is a platform for scientists to convey their research to children in a fun and interesting way http://www.csiro.au/en/Education/Scope.
The program is set to air on the 17th December at 8:30 am on channel ELEVEN, and will be available online at shortly after at https://tenplay.com.au/channel-eleven/scope/episodes .
